Color the Rainforest Poster
Upon return to Germany in 1820, the explorers began the task of creating etchings from the sketches so they could be printed and distributed in a 40 volume work which also displayed 1000s of drawings of the plants. This task was completed in 1840 with the publication of Flora Brasiliensis.
Since then, many people have copied and colored these etchings, but few people have unlocked their secrets to reveal the full glory of the forest coming alive with color. Even in 1817, the Germans had powerful lenses which magnified the etchings and allowed for incredible details that could only be seen and colored 200 years later n the new era of computers..
So if you love to color and you are more than a casual explorer, magnify the black and white etchings and you will see 100s of flowers. You will recognize them as black dots surrounded by white.
